KAWS:HOLIDAY in the North Bund

Image
In August, the KAWS:HOLIDAY show arrived at Shanghai's North Bund. I walked around and took several photos. Even on a busy workday, the bridge at Shanghai's North Bund was crowded with people, their cameras aimed at the impressive KAWS:HOLIDAY exhibition. The air buzzed with excitement as visitors captured images of the monumental art installation, momentarily forgetting the usual rush of their daily lives. Passing by the Confucian Temple

Image
Earlier this month, I found myself near the Confucian Temple, and with nothing pressing on my mind, I decided to wander in for a while. The temple is currently undergoing renovations, so there were only a few people inside. The midday sun in August was blazing and intense, making it even less likely for anyone to be around. At the entrance of a quaint little courtyard, some green plants were growing, along with a few vine-covered plants that looked like vegetables. Exploring the Serenity: A Nearby Visit to Baiyun Temple

Image
Earlier this year, I wandered near Baiyun Temple in the Huangpu District. But I didn't enter the temple since I wasn't interested. Cleaners were busy tidying up the area outside the gate. The small temple is surrounded by tall buildings. Street Impressions in Pudong

Image
Last December, I wandered through Pudong's streets, taking in the quiet charm of local life against the backdrop of an ordinary urban skyline. Parents gathered expectantly at the kindergarten gate, their anticipation palpable as they waited for their children to emerge. Walking Along Suzhou Creek

Image
Earlier this year, I went to Jing'an and then walked along Suzhou Creek. It was a workday afternoon. People were getting off work and returning to their homes. The greengrocer was out with their fresh vegetables, and a man stopped by for some of them. Greengrocer ( 31.24,121.45 ) The courier was hurrying for the delivery. People at Corniche

The day I walked along the Xuhui Corniche, the sky looked great and pretty after the cloudy morning weather. Abandoned Music School

While the pandemic may be a distant memory for many, its profound impact on individuals and societies lingers. Lives were deeply scarred not only by the virus itself but also by the ensuing lockdowns. Moreover, the subsequent economic downturn has exacerbated these challenges, causing increasing hardship for countless people. An abandoned music school serves as a poignant symbol of this ongoing challenge. Abandoned Music School ( 31.16,121.47 )

Nanpu Bridge in June

Image
I walked along the Huangpu River in June, hoping to find something interesting. The people there were either busy with work or enjoying some rest. The Nanpu Bridge stood silently, adorned with quietly growing plants, as boats passed by indifferently. View from a distance Close View Sunny with few clouds and light winds. Bear Guardian

One day I returned to Sunqiao to see how things had changed for the passing years. In the new plaza area, the pink teddy bear caught my eye.  The Guardian just stood in front of the Civil Defence Works gate. Bear Guardian ( 31.18,121.63 )
